Rekkai Mulaiththen director SR Prabhakaran took to social media to announce that the Censor Board has given a U/A certificate to his upcoming Tanya Ravichandran starrer. Billed as a murder mystery film, Rekkai Mulaiththen went on floors during Covid four years. In a conversation with the Times of India, director Prabhakaran, best known for the Sasikumar-Vijay Sethupathi starrer Sundarapandian, said that Tanya portrays the role of a police officer in the film.

This is Prabhakaran’s fourth film as a director, but his first as a producer. He told the publication that he decided to produce the film himself because he wished “to break the image of a rural film director” with “a pucca city-based film.”

The makers are yet to reveal further details about the plot of the film. It has cinematography by Ganesh Santhanam, editing by Biju V Don Bosco, songs by Theeson, and a background score by Dharan Kumar. Prabhakaran produced the film under the Stone Elephant Creations banner.
